Interview with the founder of the Eugene Riconneaus brand

Designers

Designer of heeled shoes

Could you present yourself and your brand?

I’m Eugène Riconneaus, artist and also shoe designer.

What is the concept of Eugene Riconneaus? What are you going to present at the next edition of Premiere Classe?

We will present our best selling low heels (25mm, 60mm, 90mm), from mules to sandals. These shoes can be worn both during the day and evening. Also, a new selection of sandals will be introduced. This is the second line of my brand which permits more buyers to access my work.

How long have you been coming to Premiere Classe? What opportunities has the trade show brought you?

I launched my brand almost at the time of Premiere Classe, so I met my first wholesale client here. During the first season, I only had eight pairs of shoes to present. I met some key players here; 10 Corso Como, Luisa Via Roma, Lane Crawford, Harvey Nichols, Beams, etc.

An anecdote/souvenir/encounter at Premiere Classe?

I remember when I presented my first over-the-knee high boots : it brought the brand considerable success.

What advice would you give to a young designer who is launching and exhibiting their brand for the first time at Premiere Classe?

Firstly, it’s an opportunity to build your community and invite them... Always ask yourself why your customers need your design.

For you, Premiere Classe is ….

An ideal destination to discover trends and new shoe designers.

Which changes have you noticed in the fashion world? For you, what is the future of fashion?

There are more brands than there are customers, and so many products are launched each day. The future should be about acquiring goods for their own value and contributions, not as the result of marketing actions.
